DESIGN STUDIO
NOMVULA Design was created by designer and farm girl, Nardia Cronje.
Growing up on a farm, she made time to play and experiment with different ideas and materials. After a year of studying Chemical Engineering, she quickly realised her floral skirts and doodles would be better suited to another field of study.
So, she entered the world of Design and Architecture. And has not looked back once.
The impact that the family farm, and lifestyle had on her never subsided, and she moved back to the country. She made a few bags for family and friends, and soon orders and a demand for a brand started building. Nomvula Design was born.
"Nomvula" is a name for a girl in the Zulu language of South Africa, and means 'The one of Rain'. It was bestowed on Nardia on her 21st Birthday, as it often rains during that time of year.
Nomvula Design strives to create sustainable employment and skill development in the rural communities of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.
